I always say that the greatest reward of teaching is knowing that each and every day, I get to share something I love & have a profound passion for with our future generations. ART! Last night was one of the most epic experiences in my 8 years of teaching with the DOE. Beyond being congratulated by our Chancellor Fariña, Mayor Bill DiBlasio, and the UFT President Michael Mulgrew, I was just so humbled and honored to be selected as a Big Apple Awards recipient for the 2015-2016 school year. An while I’m up working on art assessments and grades, I just can’t help but reflect on how surreal last night was. To represent Arts Education for PS 51 & the DOE. Just awesome. Thank you Nancy for nominating me for this award, thanks to all who support me in what I do, to those who joined me last night for this momentous occasion, to those who were there in spirit & all who have inspired me along the way.. It means the world to me. #Grateful #GodisGood
