The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum recently received a two-year grant (2018 – 2020) from The Freeman Foundation that will enable us to develop and disseminate a series of new K-12 curriculum guides centering on its collection of contemporary East Asian and Southeast Asian art. The guides will explore significant art and artists from these regions, as well as strengthen and expand the museum’s existing education resources.

I was recently invited to be a part of the Teacher Advisory Committee that will help advise us on the development of new teacher resources focusing on research, writing, design, and testing of the curriculum materials. The Teacher Advisory Committee is comprised of local educators who teach various grade levels and disciplines. This group will be tasked with helping the Guggenheim assess their current teacher resources and provide input as well as develop new resources.
