Recently I was selected to facilitate a workshop at the 34th Annual City-Wide Art Education Conference, ArtWorks14 hosted by NYCATA/UFT. The conference was held at the High School of Art & Design on Saturday October 25, 2014

Workshop Name: CREATIVE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT 101

This workshop provided ridiculously fun & simple strategies to effectively manage an Art classroom. Whether a first year teacher or seasoned; classroom dynamics are constantly changing. Through dialogue & sharing practices, participants explored methods of creative discipline that promote calmness in a chaotic art room! Some key topics discussed were classroom management strategies including: rules & routines, classroom setup, building responsible students, promoting independence, visual aids, teambuilding, monitor systems, art conversations, and establishing healthy relationships especially with challenging students.
