Students in the pre-kindergarten class have been studying the element of shape and art. Students learned about regular shapes such as squares, rectangles, ovals, circles, trapezoids, diamonds, and more. They also learned about shapes we find in nature, also known as organic shapes. They learn to recognize that leaves, puddles, clouds, and footsteps can all be considered organic shapes. Using the torn paper collage technique, students created a collage of organic shapes. Take a look at what they did!
Students in the kindergarten have been studying the element of shape in art. They talked about all of the different shapes that surround us in our daily life. Students learned about geometric shapes such as triangles, squares, circles, trapezoids, hexagons, pentagons, rectangles and more. They also learned about organic shapes that we often find in nature such as leaves, mud puddles, clouds, flowers and more. Students were able to compare and contrast both. Using collage techniques, kindergarten students created both geometric and organic shape collages.
